Boston Pizza: Lobster Haven for Seafood Lovers

Boston Pizza: they’ve always been excellent purveyors of, well, pizza and other yummy Friday night staples, paired with good friends and one (or two…) yummy cocktails.

divine.ca was recently invited to sample a new addition to the restaurant’s menu which, to my delight, was none other than lobster! One often hear’s of seafood on pizza (thank you, Food Network!), but I’ve never had the pleasure of tasting such a culinary mix. Until now.

My guest and I made our way to Laval (just off the island of Montreal) to the Centropolis shopping centre. We got into our booth, ordered our requisite drinks, and we’re ready to devour fresh Maine lobster.

There were quite a few choices, but we opted for the lobster pizza and the lobster roll. In regards to the former, my first surprise was the rather large chunks of lobster meat. One would think, given the normally-pricey nature of this seafood, that the lobster would come in tiny pieces, barely visible amongst the other ingredients on the pie. Not so! Generous, meaty, oh-so-tender portions (photo, right) adorned the pizza, paired perfectly with the gooey cheese.

Next up: lobster rolls! I was particularly excited about this one, a New England staple. Again, a generous portion in each roll (two per meal), and a satisfying crunch from the celery and red peppers.

The menu consisted of a few more lobster options–a lobster penne dish, a lobster salad–but our full bellies will just have to wait to try these some other day!

Have you tried anything from Boston Pizza’s lobster menu? We’d love to hear your thoughts! Let us know in the Comments section below.
