It’s getting late here so I’ll keep this post short.

I attended another evening of swimming events at the Aquatics Center and tonight, the crowd was out of control. Why? Well, there was a lot to be excited about!

Not only did Chinese swimmer Ye Shiwen win her second gold medal at London 2012, but the American team also won the 4 x 200m swimming event. That means that Michael Phelps, the last to swim on his team, made history by winning his 19th Olympic medal and becoming the most decorated Olympian ever. Also über-impressive is the fact that of those 19 medals, 15 of them are gold. His mom was also present, and understandably looked very moved by the outcome of things.

Tomorrow, I’ll be checking out the diving events, and Canadian athlete Alexandre Despatie’s performance. His mom, Christiane Despatie, will also be attending. That’s sure to be exciting!
