Last week, we had the pleasure of joining the Lise Watier team for a very special event: at Montreal’s Bell Centre on Thursday, we were given the opportunity to catch the one and only Oprah Winfrey at her Montreal stop of her cross-Canada tour. How could we resist such an invite?
In her nearly two-hour talk, the former talk show queen shared a bit about her journey, from a poor girl in Mississippi to the person she is today, to inspire the thousands of people sitting in the venue before her.
From quotes from her favourite authors and poets, to anecdotes from her journalism career, Winfrey truly is an inspirational speaker and has a voice and presence that gets people to stop and listen. And as she tells you that life is about defining and redefining your life, much as Oprah has done with hers, it’s hard not to believe her that finding your life’s purpose is achievable.
40 years of Lise Watier
Another woman, in the world of beauty this time, also shone that evening: Lise Watier is a powerhouse in the cosmetics industry, and we had the opportunity to celebrate 40 years of the woman and her brainchild. A self-made businesswoman, a beauty maven, a Canadian woman as the head of a global brand: it’s hard not to be in awe of Watier and her empire.
A leader in cosmetics innovation, Lise Watier continues to break new ground with its latest addition: the new Rouge Fondant Supreme lipstick, infused with antioxidant-rich Labrador Tea extract (found in the province of Quebec). It glides on super-smooth, leaving behind a soft and radiant pout.
The various hues pay homage to many iconic women, with hues like Angelina (Jolie), Brigitte (Bardot), Marilyn (Monroe), etc. And, by sheer happenstance, there was also a hue named after the divine Miss O, as well!
One night, two amazing and inspiring women: they may have come from two different worlds, but they sure have helped shape the lives of women, and will likely continue to do so for years to come.
