New year, new you? You’ve probably heard of the minimalism trend at this point, and if you’re like us, you’ve tried to give it a go – unsuccessfully. There is this distorted idea that if you like fashion, you have to own all the new, trendy pieces, and you have to own the same shirt in ten different colors. That’s false!
A true fashionista can create a stunning and unique outfit with as low as ten pieces, as long as they’re the right ones. Getting rid of old pieces that don’t fit, or that are simply not your style anymore seems like a hard task – you’re scared you regret it, and there’s the ‘what if’ factor. That’s why you should ask yourself three questions: 1) Does it fit me? 2) Have I worn this in the past six months? 3) Can I make at least three outfits out of this piece?
If you answer no to at least one of the questions, chances are, you probably don’t need it! Sometimes, a few items is enough – check out which sixteen pieces we think are the foundation of a timeless wardrobe.
