When I got the package at the office, it put a smile on my face. A simple recipe: potatoes, cheese curds, and Club House Brown Gravy with La Grille Montreal Steak Spice Flavour. Hallelujah! Although I don’t usually make poutine at home, I must admit I have a soft spot for this typical Quebecois dish.
You should have seen my boyfriend’s face—his family is Italian!—when I came home with the ingredients. First off, he didn’t know what cheese curds were. Surprising, since he was born here, and has eaten poutine more than once in his life. To him, the idea of preparing poutine at home was a little unusual. To me, it was pure joy!
I don’t have a fryer, so I cut the potatoes and roasted them in the oven to make fries. After an hour, I took them out of the oven, prepared the Club House Gravy with La Grille Montreal Steak Spice Flavour (so simple & delicious!) and combined everything together: fries+cheese+gravy. Yum!Needless to say, my Italian beau & I were delighted by this little dinnertime improvisation. Next time, I’ll try making the dinner with a different sauce (Club House Demi-Glace with La Grille Spicy Pepper Medley Flavour, Club House Gravy Mix for Pork with La GrilleSmouldering Smoked Applewood Flavour, Club House Ragout Gravy with La Grille Steakhouse Onion Flavour…)!
