Mr. Robot (USA)

Don’t get turned off by the name, Mr. Robot aired last year with an incredible first season on USA. The addictive drama stars Rami Malek as Elliot Alderson, a cyber security engineer by day and a vigilante hacker by night. He gets involved with a dark web organization whose goal is to take down E corp. This show will leave you speechless but wanting answers!

Stranger Things (Netflix)

This spooky yet nostalgic show is set the 80’s and dives into the unusual circumstances surrounding the disappearance of a neighbourhood boy. His family, friends, and local officials are trying to solve the case but they end up stumbling upon top secret government experiments and potential supernatural forces. Oh, and did I mention that Winona Ryder stars in it?

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (Netflix)

This show is just makes you tingle with happiness! It follows the life of Kimmy Schmidt, a girl who’s been living in a hole in the ground for 15 years. After being held captive by a cult leader, she is rescued and starts her life over again in New York City. It’s such a feel good show with witty humor!

American Crime Story: The People vs. O. J. Simpson (FX)

Based in Jeffrey Toobin’s book “The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson”, this series follow the Simpson trial from the perspective of the lawyers. The show digs deeper into the chaos that was this trial and it touches on topics like race, celebrity status, media, violence, and the criminal justice system.

The Get Down (Netflix)

With only 6 episodes out this show has got me hooked. The Get Down is set in 1977 when New York was on the verge of bankruptcy. The disco era was dying, which gave way to the rise of hip-hop. This show tells us a story through the lives, art, music and dance of a group of young people in South Bronx. Also, the music in this series is perfection!
