Blemish-Free Skin: The Essentials

Our finds for a clear complexion
Dark spots, acne scars, blemishes, uneven skin tone… For many of us with acne-prone skin, finding the ideal product to help clear our skin or to simply cover blemishes up successfully can be a challenge. Fret not: we tried out a few new finds to add to your beauty arsenal. Read on!

Cleanse…
We were first hesitant to try this. Sure, the brand was a staple during our teenage years, but would it really make a difference with our adult acne? We adored the products’ new formula, which not only combats acne blemishes, but also improves our complexion in the process. The kit includes a Skin Smoothing Exfoliator, a Pore Targeting Solution and, our favourite, the refreshing and quenching Complexion Perfecting Hydrator.

Proactiv+ 3-Step Set, $29.95 online.

… and cover-up!
While our cleansing system does the dirty work, our skin requires the right makeup allies to keep up appearances in the meantime! The former is a concealer that really offers great, all-day coverage. We adore the lightweight formula and, best of all, not only does it cover up blemishes but it boasts an anti-acnegetic formula, too! As for the latter, a concealer and corrector stick (perfect to keep handy in your purse!) with two complimentary and blendable hues, blemishes are covered to perfection for a natural-looking final product.

MAC Cosmetics Studio Finish Concealer Duo, and Conceal and Correct Duo, $30 and $37 respectively at counters, boutiques, and online.

Psst! We recently reviewed the new Too Faced Hangover RX Replenishing Face Primer,  Garnier Clean+ Gentle Clarifying Cleansing Gel and MAC Cosmetics Prep + Prime Blemish Control Gel, which are also great allies in the quest for a flawless complexion.
