Recipe: Pork, Pear, Miso and Maple Skewers



 

Why not change things up a bit this winter by making these pork skewers? They are a delicious dish to eat with a side of veggies. Bon appétit!

Ingredients
Miso and maple marinade
1⁄4 cup (60 mL) maple syrup
2 tbsp (30 mL) miso
2 tbsp (30 mL) olive oil
1 tbsp (15 mL) curry powder
1⁄2 teaspoon (2.5 mL) ground Szechuan pepper

Skewers
2 pork tenderloins, fat removed and cut into cubes
4 pears, cut into cubes
8 metal or wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes

Preparation

Miso and maple marinade
Mix all the ingredients. Set aside.

Skewers
Add the pork to the miso marinade. Marinate for one hour in the fridge.
Preheat the barbecue or the pan to high heat and add some oil.
Thread the meat onto the skewers, alternating with the cubed pears. Oil the meat. Grill the skewers for about 8 minutes and serve.
