The scent of prestige
When we hear them, the names conjure up something powerful in our soul. Balenciaga, Chloé, Burberry and Dolce, not to mention Gabbana; we want to know everything, see everything, and of course, smell everything. Here’s what the season has to offer in the realm of prestige fragrances.
The first fragrance was created by Alexander Wang, the creative director at Balenciaga. A surprising juice in a rosy hue, you can never really unveil its mystery. Where does its attractive force come from? What we do know: the eau de parfum dares to combine lily of the valley and violet green leaves, but also cedarwood. A floral fragrance that ends on a powdery note. Deep from beginning to end.
The essence of Chloé’s latest potion was kept secret for months. We were expecting to smell soft roses, but were rather offered the sophistication of neroli. We also wanted to be seduced, and that’s exactly what happened. A fresh fragrance story that is happy and luminous. A love story that also includes orange blossom and jasmine from Madagascar, but also cedar and tonka bean, which make the attraction a very powerful one.
Although it’s snowing here in Canada, the chic London brand invites us into its garden right after the rain. Burberry brings us this enticing scent that honours flowers, geraniums and freesia, as well as fruit—and what a fruit!—golden quince. A fragrance that ends with patchouli notes, soft yet powerful, which deliciously scents our cashmere sweaters and stylish trench. Our Burberry, of course!
The One Special Edition
An emblematic Dolce&Gabbana fragrance that is dressed up in one of the house’s iconic hues for this special edition version, and then embellished with a metallic piece which recalls ancient Greece. The characteristics we know The One for are revealed through oriental floral notes that are also fruity and vanillaesque, but this time, they’re contained in a collectible lacquered vial. A perfect complement to the fairy tale told in the famous label’s fall-winter collection.
