We get trying to impress your guy or girl with something extravagant to impress them, although it is hard to go all out if you’re on a very tight budget. Here are some suggestions you can do to have an amazing date with very little cash involved.
Movies on Cheap Day
Going to the movies is expensive, however most theaters include on day a week where it is typically $5-6 cheaper than the other days. Take advantage and go see which movies are out! Make sure to skip the concession stand, as they charge a fair bit of money for things you can easily bring yourself, such as popcorn, candy, or soft drinks.
Going outside is free! Whether the closest body of water is a small river or a large beach, take advantage of a nice day and explore. You can even find the nearest park and go biking through the greenery. You can even bring your own snacks and a towel and have a little picnic on the grass or sand and simply enjoy your partner’s company!
Try out a hole-in-the-wall restaurant
Fancy restaurants with expensive wine lists are good to splurge out on once in a while, but there’s nothing wrong with going to a hole-in-the-wall restaurant with drinks and a meal for $10 or less. Those types of establishments are often more intimate, and the food may be much better than you think.
Go to the museum
Going to a museum or an art gallery is a fairly standard date, but it’s even better when it’s free or on the cheap! Usually museums have one day a week where they offer discounts on certain exhibits. For example, on Wednesdays the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto offers free admission from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to its main, permanent collections.
Cook at home
What better way to save money than using your own food at home! You can make anything from a scrumptious salad to delicious pasta, it’s up to you. You can expand it into making it a 3 or 4 course meal. You can add some romantic elements by adding some DIY decor to the kitchen or table by lighting some incense or candles.
