The warm weather is (finally!) here to stay, and we’re thrilled at the prospect of being able to spend more time outdoors. In the city, food truck season has started and we’re so excited to discover all the different flavours they’ll have to offer this year.
This Thursday, UNCLE BEN’S invites you to come celebrate the beginning of the warm season and the launch of their new Rice & Grains product by trying original recipes created by three Montreal food trucks for the occasion. The participating trucks, Pas d’cochon dans mon salon, Landry & filles and Le Tuktuk will be parked downtown. Each of them has created a special recipe that you can try on location for free!
You’ll then be asked to vote for your favourite recipe, and you’ll even be given a little passport that also contains the recipes for the dishes you’ve tried so you can recreate them at home. New Rice & Grains are available in seven flavours that combine different rice varieties and ancient grains like quinoa, for example. The unique mixes make it easy to whip up a savoury meal in a cinch.
The event will also take place in Vancouver on June 7 and in Toronto on June 9 with local food trucks from the area. After the events, the recipe that will have reaped the most votes will be distributed by the official UNCLE BEN’S Rice & Grains food truck, which will make its way across the country during this summer’s biggest events. See? Every vote counts!
So pass by the the Food Truck Challenge this Thursday. It’s the perfect excuse to get out and get some air during your lunch hour!
