Fans of yoga are probably familiar with the Sun Salutation, a sequence of 12 poses that follow each other in the goal of tonifying and activating the body. It can be an excellent way to warm up your body before a workout, or it can simply be a part of your morning routine.
We all know the benefits of yoga, but are you familiar with the ones specifically associated with the practice of the sun salutation? Here are a few:
- Because the entire body is in movement, the sun salutation improves the whole body’s musculation as well as tonifying the back;
- It also contributes to the maintenance of the bust by reinforcing the pectoral muscles;
- The sun salutation prevents hair from falling out and lowers their tendency to turn grey (really!);
- This sequence can also diminish menstrual irregularities and period cramps, as well as simplifying giving birth.
On top of that, adding the sun salutation to your daily lives allows better sleep, improves memory, soothes anxiety and improves our body’s immune system. Pretty impressive, right? You won’t have an excuse to not adopt this little exercise in your daily lives now.
