My best friend is in her late 30`s and just found out before christmas she had a brain tumour after having a seizure. She got 80% taken out and is going to be going in for radiation since they don`t know if the rest is cancerous. Very shocked at such a young age and did not realize it would affect me so hard.

So sorry to hear of your illness, myself I have had to deal with too many in my life some to whom have lost the battle ,some have won it for now for that we are glad The horrible disease does not pick and choose who it strikes out at that is a for sure,And yes it does effect all those around us not just the ones with the disease but those that stand beside them trying hard to be brave and get them through it . You stay strong and possitive hun it is good to have those around you that can be that for you as well you have my prayers and possitive hope and support xxx

I felt the need to comment as a person who just recently fought my own battle with cancer. So many people focus on the one that is ill, but when I was sick, I felt so bad for the wonderful man in my life. He stood strong and looked after me and didn`t once talk about death to me, always staying positive. But now he admits that many times he wondered if I would still be here in a year and still struggles with all of what we BOTH went through. I am here and so far, so good, dealing with my new normal and we talk about the fears and the stress that the loved ones go through. The caregivers and family need support too, just as much if not more, than the person battling this horrible disease.

Oh no Casey so sad... and for all of you to. I don't know what to say except that I am sending my mental support even if is only in these words... I am coping with the death of dad by reminding myself that his fihgt for life was filled with physical pain and mental pain to specially for the last 4-5 years of his life. I can only had a small sentence hoping to share relief... Charles Peguy wrote prose summarized by this idea... Your Loved one is right in the next room to you (me: still being there and kinding or just being there to listen...)

I have not had to go through this myself with a loved one but have had many close friends who have so it is good to understand what someone goes through. Thanks for the add and hope I can send some support!
