Hey Jlfp...I think teens can and should dress any style they like (as long as it isn't offensive or provocative). In my experience most grow out of it when they become adults and have to work and become responsible. Once they are adults, they really don't get a chance to express themselves so freely any more. My niece was hardcore Emo, but is slowly coming around, now that she is working and becoming responsible and meeting people from different walks of life. My 16 year old step daughter loves to wear funky coloured dresses with striped socks and red shoes. She has this 50's style white trench coat she wears as well. She cuts her own hair and always does funky things with it. We just let her do her thing...she won't be able to much longer. I've always felt there are bigger, more important lessons in life to teach them. And they know when they have to dress appropriately (funerals, weddings) and always do so without complaint.
