Divine.ca announces the final results for Share the Love’s $21,000 donation
MONTREAL, QC, May 25, 2009 -- Divine.ca, the bilingual online destination for Canadian women, announced today the results of Share the Love, its charity support program. From April 6 to May 15th, Canadians were invited to vote daily on their top picks among twelve Canadian charitable organizations chosen to participate. The public’s votes determined the distribution of divine.ca’s $21,000 donation.

Each organization received a $500 donation for participating, and each category had a total donation pot of $5000. The final voting results of and donations to be awarded via Share the Love are:

Local category:
(1) The KidSafe Project Society $2,652.12 (43.04%);
(2) Mothercraft Ottawa $1,617.11 (22.34%);
(3) Adsum Association for Women & Children $1,522.47 (20.45%); and
(4) Rosalie Hall $1,208.30 (14.17%);

National category:
(1) Breakfast for Learning $2,280.90 (35.62%);
(2) Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation $2,094.64 (31.89%);
(3) The Sunshine Foundation of Canada $1,446.85 (18.94%); and
(4) Dress for Success $1,177.61 (13.55%);

International category:
(1) 60 million girls Foundation $2,626.19 (42.52%);
(2) Free The Children $1,964.56 (29.29%);
(3) Canadian International Learning Foundation $1,323.68 (16.47%); and
(4) Pura Vida Foundation $1,085.57 (11.71%).

“Share the Love allowed us to make a difference that went beyond a monetary donation,” says Maya Meyouhas, Editor-in-Chief at divine.ca. “We wanted to do more for these organizations and the individuals who work, volunteer, or benefit from their services. It is vital that charitable organizations evolve with the Canadian population in terms of how and where they communicate with one another by engaging their supporters in an online and interactive way. Voting on Share the Love enabled this.”

Divine.ca accepted applications for Share the Love by eligible organizations from February 13 to March 5, and the subsequent voting period ran from April 6 to May 15. To learn more about Share the Love, visit www.divine.ca/sharethelove
