When planning an evening in front of the TV, a good old-fashioned rom-com comes standard! Whether you’re forcing your guy to sit down with you for a viewing or holding a marathon with your fabulously single gal pals, check out our 12 faves and how they rate in regards to romance, cheesiness, tear-jerkers, and laughter.

The Apartment (1960)
C.C. Baxter (Jack Lemmon) is a  hardworking bachelor who rents out his apartment to colleagues and superiors and their secret flames, allowing him to move up the corporate ladder. Things change, however, when the woman of his dreams Fran Kubelik (Shirley MacLaine) ends up in his apartment.

 Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961)

 Bridget Jones’s Diary (2001)
A London singleton (Renée Zellweger) aims to improve her body, her mind, her career and her love life. Nothing goes according to plan when she falls for her boss Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant) and is confused over the seemingly cold Mark Darcy (Colin Firth)

 Kate & Leopold (2001)

 Love Actually (2003)
Eight different couples struggle with love and loss during the holidays in London. From widowers to jilted lovers all looking for The One, they realize that “love is all around”.

My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997)
