In 2009, the pop singer told Teen Vogue about her being bullied in junior high school: “I got dumped by this group of popular girls,” she recalls, and even shared that kids singled her out because she was a fan of country music. However, Swift credits her bullies: “[I]f I hadn't come home from school miserable every day, maybe I wouldn't have been so motivated to write songs.”
