Shiloh Jolie-Pitt's upset at the Tooth Fairy
(BANG) -Shiloh Jolie-Pitt was reportedly devastated to receive an ''educational'' game from the Tooth Fairy instead of money.

The six-year-old daughter of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie was excited when one of her teeth fell out after her brothers Maddox, 10, and nine-year-old Pax, told her to expect cash from the Tooth Fairy for leaving her incisor under her pillow - but the celebrity couple gave her a copy of the kids' version of Trivial Pursuit instead.

A family friend told the National Enquirer magazine: ''Shiloh can be quite the traditionalist when it comes to some things, including the Tooth Fairy.

''Her brothers Maddox and Pax got her all worked up after she lost a tooth and left it under her pillow. They told her to expect a big wad of cash.

''When Shiloh woke up, the tooth was gone but there was no money and she was fuming. She felt she had been ripped off.''

Shiloh - who also has siblings Zahara, seven, and three-year-old twins, Vivienne and Knox - then asked if she could get the tooth back to sell it for a better deal, but Angelina refused and put the experience down to being an important life lesson for the youngster.

She added: ''Shiloh asked her folks if she could get her tooth back from the fairy so she could shop it around and get a better deal.

''In the end, Angie sat Shiloh down and explained that Tooth Fairy gifts are non-negotiable and that sometimes life can be disappointing, but there's always a next time.''

See.. these kids are growing up to think the world is all about money, greed, pomp and pagentry because that is what their parents show them... very sad.

Get real. Every kid expects some money from the tooth fairy. Shiloh's feelings aren't so much about greed as about disappointed expectations. Everybody knows what it feels like to really want something for your birthday only to get a present that's practical. I know where the parents were coming from in this case but they made a mistake IMHO. Keep the educational toys for birthdays and Christmas and leave the tooth fairy tradition as it is. It's too soon kids learn the reality of life that there is no tooth fairy, easter bunny, santa claus, etc. and have to be responsible.

People like dmc obviously don't have children and need to get off their soap boxes. I thought it was a very endearing story and typical reaction from a little girl. Do we have to analize and critique everything a child does.

I agree, Shiloh was not being greedy. Her older brothers told her that she should expect to receive money for her tooth. I presume they both received money for their teeth, so why shouldn't she. After reading the article I felt real sad for Shiloh, it is not right that she didn't get what 'every' child gets from the tooth fairy. I would be upset too!!!!

You are wrong MJ.. I have children and they are strong, responsible and intelligent. They make their own way very well. Brad and Angelina are media seekers.. everything they do is in the news.. puke. I know kids expect the fairy tales to be true.. but the phrase used was "wads of money".. that is over the top. All those kids see is their parents being immortalized.. simply because they have money and fame. I am as sick of hearing about them as I am the Kardashians. No one said anything about not keeping traditions. I kept them all.

"Wads of money" to a child is not exactly the same as with an adult. I know many children who receive $20+ for a tooth from the Tooth Fairy... Non-celeb kids.

I highly doubt "media seekers" Ang & Brad released this "inside info" to any media outlets, rather a source, or in this case, "family friend", is quoted, to The National Enquirer, at that!

And to be very honest, IMHO, Angie's explanation to Shiloh was good parenting, although I do agree Shiloh was not being greedy. Ang made it a learning experience. Good for her.

I do hope the Tooth Fairy does leave Shi the so called "wads of money" next time, however. Childhood is a magical time.:) And all too soon ended these days.

No Sophie I don't think I am. I have kids who are grown now with post graduate degrees and extremely successful. They say you can measure how good you were as a parent by how your grandchildren turn out, they are fabulous, well rounded, captain of their sports teams, 90% school averages so I think I did something right and my children all got money from the tooth fairy. That's what she gives. When your children are grown and have raised successful children then you can tell me I am wrong but until that time I think you are out of line. You can state what your belief is but do not have the right to tell another person they are wrong.
