Justin Bieber sued by concert-goer
(BANG) -Justin Bieber is being sued for $9.23 million after woman who attended one of his concerts claimed the noise of the crowd permanently damaged her hearing.

Stacey Wilson Betts took her daughter to see Justin's show in Portland, Oregon in the United States two years ago (14.07.10) when she was hit by a ''sound blast''.

In the lawsuit Stacey claimed it was incredibly loud inside the arena because of the pop star's shrieking fans, according to website TMZ.com.

However the 18-year-old singer apparently made the din levels increase when he climbed into a ''heart-shaped aluminum/steel gondola'' which dangled over the crowd.

In the paperwork, the prosecutor says he ''created a wave like effect of screaming by pointing into various sections of the arena. Then enticed the crowd into a frenzy of screams by continuously waving his arms in a quick and upward motion.''

She continued to explain that the gondola acted as a ''sound conductor creating a sound blast that permanently damaged both of my ears.''

As a result, Stacey claims she now suffers from tinnitus, which causes a constant pulsing, whooshing sound that makes it hard to sleep.

She also complains of other hearing-related damage.

Justin along with his record label, the concert promoter and the arena are being asked to settle the damages.

    To not expect noice at a concert (especially a Beiber concert) is idiotic. Frivolous law suit. I hope she loses.

    An American filing a b___s___ lawsuit. Hard to believe that a nation with so little common sense became a world power. Fortunately, it seems that judges are starting to throw more of these out - I hope there's no settlement, and they force this women into court, counter-suing for legal costs. That's the ONLY way these lawsuits are going to stop.

    Amazing. She was the only one that damaged her hearing. What are the odds?

    I would say that this is a BS lawsuit. Was she forced to go to a concert at gun pojnt? No. She chose to attend the concert. By purchasing tickets and staying at the concert even after being hit by a "sound wave" she negates any chance at winning a court case. It was her choice to attend the concert.

    The nerve of this idiot!! It's strange that out of all the thousands of people who attended that concert, SHE was the only one who received ear damage. She knew before she went there that Justin has a LOT of screaming fans. She doesn't deserve one cent. She's only suing to get rich and to get her 15 minutes of fame. I agree with Brandy that these types of lawsuits should go to court to counter-sue for legal fees and for anything else he can get out of her. Maybe then people will think twice before filing frivolous lawsuits!! >:-{
