    divine.ca's Top Beauty Tips

Divine.ca brings you our top list of things to do to keep yourself looking beautiful inside out. Whether your beauty regimen involves having your makeup and hair done up to the nines or running your fingers through your hair and brushing your teeth, read on for the basic must-dos to any gal’s regular upkeep.

Drink water (and lots of it) daily.
Drink water every day to flush your body of impurities and stay hydrated; this will also work wonders on your skin, keeping it healthy and beautiful.

    Remove your makeup every night.
One of the surest ways to avoid clogged pores, swollen eyes, oily build-up on your skin, and acne is to remove your makeup. Make sure to do it every night—no matter how tired you are or how late it is.

Wash your face in the morning and before you go to sleep.
Even if you don’t wear makeup, your face is still prone to clogged pores, oily build-up and pimples. Always start and end every day with a freshly cleaned face. Face, er, we mean hands down, this is an absolute must for keeping your face looking young and healthy for years to come.

Moisturize right after you wash your face.
Just as important as washing your face twice a day is moisturizing it. This will help to leave your skin smooth and soft from the AM to the PM.

    Use sunscreen year round.
Protect your skin from the sun’s harmful UV rays by wearing sunscreen whenever you’re outdoors—even during the winter. Look for sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 15 and apply liberally to the face, ears, lips and hands.

Exfoliate your face at least once a week.
Gently scrub your face with a good-quality exfoliator to remove dead skin cells. Exfoliating will also make sure any creams or treatments you use are their most effective. However, be sure not to over-exfoliate (more than three times a week) or your skin could become overly sensitive, especially to the sun.

Put a leave-in conditioner treatment in your hair once a week.
Use a leave-in conditioner weekly to help hair maintain its proper moisture balance.

    Get a haircut regularly.
For hair that’s healthy and free of split ends, be sure to get it trimmed about every six weeks.

Don’t forget the rest of your body.
Skin is the body’s largest organ so be sure to exfoliate and moisturize every part of it. Give your body a thorough, gentle scrub once a week. And always apply body lotion right after you shower.

The only thing I don't do is use a leave-in conditioner treatment once a week. It's more like once a month. Maybe I'll try it more often.

i also agree with what we put in our bodies shows on the outside. I do try to eat well and exercise, and rest. A good day and night cream helps too!

Try the Neostrata line! They've got some fabulous products and they're pretty reasonably priced. Shoppers Drug Mart will sell it in their cosmetic section....
