    Holiday Makeup Guide

    By Mariève Inoue
    Published November 24, 2009

Once you’ve found your outfit for the holiday bash, it’s time to think about how you’ll do your makeup. We’ve got your guide to putting together three glamorous looks.

This makeup look perfectly complements an outfit that includes rich, jewel tone colours, and delicate accessories like dangly earrings.

On eyes, try a shimmery smoky look using a nude shadow as a base and one that resembles that of your outfit as the accent colour. Use a kohl pencil in the same hue, or a dark charcoal, to line the upper eyelid, and blend together with the shadow to keep the eyes soft.

Go for a light pink blush for cheeks, and keep lips nude, so as not to deter the focus from your gorgeous eyes, and your beautiful smoky look.

To add some sparkle to skin, dust some fine glitter on your shoulders and décolleté.

    We suggest:
    1. Three Carats Mini Cheek Stain Set by Tarte, $33 at Sephora
    2. Glamour Body Glitter by GOSH, $22 at Pharmaprix and Shoppers Drug Mart

This look is clean, classic, and goes great with an outfit that focuses on neutral colours like black or grey.

On eyes, apply a champagne or shimmery beige eye shadow all over the upper eyelid, stopping at the brow. Then, use a liquid liner to line the top lid, extending the line a few millimetres out towards the temples.

Cheeks can get a hint of colour with a bit of cheek stain, to give you a livelier complexion.

On lips, try an über-shiny lip gloss or lip stain to make your pout really pop.

    3. Fine Liquid Liner (Black) by Joe Fresh Beauty, $6 at Maxi & Co. and Loblaws
    4. Twilight Venom by DuWop, $18 at Sephora, Pharmaprix and Shoppers Drug Mart
