    Platform

    Category: Footwear
Platforms can come in one of two ways; the upper of a shoe sitting a platform that is one continuous size all the way around, or a shoe or sandal that has a wide, tall heel (or stiletto) at the back and a smaller platform under the toe section, but nothing in between aside from the regular sole. The second version was especially popular in the 1940s, and thus makes a comeback when that style comes back in fashion. In the 1970's, platforms had an incarnation as a mix with the wedge.
