Lace

Originally made by hand, lace is a dainty fabric created by interweaving and looping thread in a pattern that is usually floral, but comes in many variations. Most lace available today is machine-made, with handmade lace being very expensive, even for a small amount. Lace can be used as trim, or to make entire garments. Tops and skirts made of lace frequently come with an attached opaque layer underneath.
