Litchi and blueberry notes, mixed in with thyme and cassis: a fragrance that sparkles. Then, make way for hints of jasmine for a more floral tone. The surprise at the end? Patchouli and musk. A scent that is full of contrasts, while the bottle is covered in romantic flowers and butterflies on a dark canvas. Provoking and unexpected, Von D-style. Adoraby Kat Von D, $72 (50 ml) exclusively at Sephora. Powder+femininityAt first, orange flower essence and an icy touch of pink pepper. How modern! Then come the floral notes: iris, combined with lilac and hyacinth. The final touch: vanilla almonds and powdered musk envelop the mix. The intention? To recreate the olfactory sensation of makeup and powder. Mission beautifully accomplished! Eau de parfum Love by Chloé, $90 (50 ml) and $115 (75 ml) at Holt Renfrew. Also available at The Bay and Murale in January 2011. ![]() Classic fragrance, modern bottle An amalgam of flowers: jasmine, rose and gardenia. The latter peppered with precious carnation and rose sandalwood. A bouquet that is airy and feminine—the recipe has stayed intact for over 60 years. In this case, it’s the bottle that is innovative: created by contemporary designer Philippe Starck, it’s offered as a limited edition. A modern, frosted glass bottle that we couldn’t pass up!
![]() Scented+fashionable series Gwen Stefani’s new scents are here. This time, the inspiration for the figurines was taken from Takeshita-Dori, a pedestrian street in the fashionable Harajuku district of Tokyo. In five stylish versions, the colourful dolls range from fruity to sparkly and vanilla-inspired, but always on a floral canvas. Fragrances that are delicate, that have the potential to be loved both by fashionistas-in-the-making and seasoned collectors.
Wicked Style Collector’s Bottle by Harajuku Lovers, $49 in pharmacies. ![]() Jacobs jewellery Last but not least, we’ve got a pretty piece of scented jewellery. After having seduced us with the Lola ring, Marc Jacobs has a new hot item. His latest solid perfume creation features the scent of Daisy. Just as massive as the Lola ring, this time, the accessory has a retro feel to it. Strawberries and pink grapefruit are mixed together for a fragrance that is light, and, of course, easy to apply on-the-go!
Daisy by Marc Jacobs Solid Perfume Ring, $42 at mass retailers. |
