From then to now
This fall, designers looked mostly to the past for inspiration, with new offerings thrown into the mix for good measure. The resulting trends make up a versatile palette sure to please all tastes. The shoes we’re seeing this season are also a testament to the season’s eclectic mood. After a thorough perusal of this season’s collections, here are our fave shoe trends for fall.
Elegant sobriety
On the runway, the timeless aesthetic of the WWII era was given a serious makeover. We’re gushing over the kitten heels in patent leather and rich suede, the must-haves of the 1940s. Oh so chic!

Equestrian chic
Flattering to all silhouettes, the riding boot never goes out of style (psst! Take a look at our fave boot of the week). Wear them with skinny jeans to elongate the frame, or over colourful tights for a more feminine allure.

Textured leather
This summer’s animal-print obsession continues into fall, except that this season, we’re trading our leopard-print for python chic. This textured print comes in all hues from beige and neon green, to always-classic black, adding just the right amount of “oomph” to fall’s sober color palette.
