Tinted formulas that are here to stay
In recent years, after a phenomenal success in Asia, all-in-one formulas have seen their popularity skyrocket on our side of the globe. After all, major cosmetic brands are competing to make the best BB cream which will moisturize and protect the skin for hours on end, all the while minimizing imperfections. Some even boast anti-aging ingredients! To find the best of the best, a few members of the divine.ca editorial staff tested six of the latest tubes in this category, so check out our thoughts below!

Annabelle
BB Cream Multi-Action Beauty Balm
Coverage: It can replace foundation on those rushed mornings, for a near-flawless coverage.
Hydration:
The formula leaves skin supple, although some may prefer to use it alongside their daily moisturizer for optimum hydration.
Tint:
It’s available in two shades, which are perfect for light, medium, and olive-skinned gals.
Texture:
It has a light and creamy texture, and it goes on easy.
Notable mention:
the added SPF 15 is appreciated, particularly in the winter when many of us tend to skip the sun protection step from our beauty routine.

$16 in pharmacies.

La Roche-Posay
Hydréane BB Cream
Coverage:
Light and translucent.
Hydration: Strong, and absorbed well by the skin.
Tint: Two shades are offered, light and medium.
Texture: It has a lovely light texture, very similar to that of the original Hydréane moisturizer.
Notable mention: It’s ideal for gals with sensitive skin, who will be happy to have the added SPF 20. Its soft fragrance is also reminiscent of the original Hydréane moisturizer.

$29 in pharmacies.

Marcelle
BB Cream Golden Glow
Coverage: It is neither opaque nor fine, a balance between a foundation and a tinted cream.
Hydration: Good and comfortable.
Tint: Simply one “universal” tint.
Texture: It blends perfectly with your skin’s natural texture.
Notable mention: The golden pigments will leave you with an amazing glow, guaranteed.

$26.95 in pharmacies.

Do they soak in or leave pores visible & do they rub off on clothes collars?

There are many more BB creams in the market; I was expecting to read about more of them.

I would never pay $48 for this.. The Cover Girl BB cream is nice (wearing it now!) but I really prefer the Garnier one, it was first in Canada and it's very reasonably priced. Plus it covers better than the others. Try reviewing that one next time!

    Susan and Jessica,

Thanks so much for your comments! We agree, there are A LOT of BB creams on the market. With so little time, we only had the chance to try six of the newest ones available this time around. But keep your eyes peeled: we're always reviewing BB creams in our 'stuff we love' section--a look into our archives page, and you can find a handful of others we've tested and loved.

Erika: Thanks for your suggestion. We do indeed love the Garnier Skin Renew BB cream--in fact, we mentioned it a year ago on divine.ca when the BB cream trend starting hitting North America. We thought we'd mention a few different ones this time around.

    Thanks so much!

You didn't even try Avon's BB cream or Skin Perfector with tint which is about the same thing and both about $10!

I used both types, both have sunscreen to 20 SPF and don't show pores and are great for those of us who hate/never wear foundations.

The only other foundation I've used has been the mineral powder ones, as they are so light too. But in comparison I prefer Avon's BB cream over the powders as they aren't so messy when you are putting them on and it does last all day and doesn't show my pores.

I realize you have a short publication time, but more types and price ranges would have been a good idea or asking readers which they prefer would have added more to the article!

We have a long way to go before we match the quality of the original Asian BB Creams. I still order mine from Korea or Thailand...
