Our Cat Buster is about 13 years old...house cat. When I first gave him the Science Diet food he was a put off a bit...but once he started...he had no problem with the food. The food doesn't have a bad smell to it, which is great! Although we only tried it for a month, he seemed a bit more active, we found him on the kids bed more often. Not bad at all. a

The food is a bit pricey but it is the best cat food my good ol'kitty has had! I was worried about the change in food, but she took right to it no problem... I did notice a difference in her playfulness at the end of the first bag. I did buy more of the Hill's Science food for her. i think it is a wonderful product and would tell all I see the benifets in serving your cat this product! Thank you.

Hello everyone. I am the owner of a sixteen year old female cat. Overall, she has been a fairly healthy and happy cat through her life. My only concerns regarding her health to date have been elevated creatinine and urea levels (which prompted me to put her on a low protein veterinarian food), and a sensitive stomach (she is part siamese and occasionally vomits her food). Due to the vomiting, I have been feeding her a small kibble food for some time. This made a significant difference, being that it was much easier to chew. Science Diet's age defying cat food does have a very small kibble, and she seems to enjoy the taste just fine, as the bowl is always on the empty side. Aside from small kibble size for easy chewing and digestion, the age defying blend states that it helps to support the immune system, brain, and bladder. It is also supposed to help combat signs of aging such as less interaction with owner, less agility, increased sleep, and incontinence issues. My cat is intelligent, healthy, and does not have any incontinence issues. So all that I could look at to assess her changes on this diet were her behaviour, energy, muscles, and coat. She sleeps about as much as she used to during the day, but one thing that's come back is her night time energy. As she is part siamese, she has a very loud meow that resonates through the entire dwelling. I did not miss it, but it does come as a sign that she is full of energy! Also she has gotten into some old habits that I thought she was done with, such as hanging out above the kitchen cabinets and refrigerator. She is one agile kitty by doing that, so I'm assuming her lean muscle mass is fine. Another change in her is interaction with our family. She is very tolerant and even playful with my one year old son. She comes around more often for rubs, which is nice. As I had stated regarding veterinarian lab findings at a recent health check, my cat does show signs of decreased kidney health. She has not had any incontinence issues. Kidney function decline is a common ailment in older cats, so I was a little surprised that the age defying formula had a higher volume by percentage of crude protein than the veterinarian recommended food I was using previously (29% versus 24.5%). This was my only disappointment in the product; I believe it should be lowered, as it is not necessary to have such high protein levels for older cats who are vulnerable to renal deterioration. Overall, I think this is a good cat food. My cat seems to like it just fine, and I think it's a high quality product. But because I am concerned about renal health, I would like to see the protein content lowered before dedicating myself to buying it regularly. Otherwise, without that concern, I would probably stick with it (I was feeding my cat Science Diet before I found out about the kidney function). I would like to thank Devine.ca and Hill's for the opportunity to try this cat food, and hope that this review is helpful to you.

First off I was surprised by the price of this food. I know it is a specialty product but at $16.99 (on sale) for only a small bag. However, the serving portion is so much smaller than the food that I usually purchase so the food goes further helping to balance out the price a bit. I brought it home and my two cats still had some food left in their bowls so I set it down and figured I would star them on it the next day. The next morning when I went down their food was still in their bowls but they had chewed through the hill's science diet senior 11+ age defying cat food bag they were so eager to get inside. They absolutely love it!! I started by mixing it with what they already had so the change wouldn't upset their stomachs too much. they didn't like that idea... they would pick through the bowls and only eat the hill's science diet senior 11+ age defying cat food pieces. Both of them absolutely loved the taste of this food which is a huge plus in my books. If they like it then I like it. In the time that they tried it I found my oldest cat to be quite a bit more active by the end of the month, she came out for attention a lot more and even started sleeping on my sons bed at night. She usually sleeps in our finished basement away from everyone, away from noise and distraction. I also found her coat to be shinier and overall healthier looking. Overall I'm impressed with the product and my cats seemed healthier and happier as well as having loved the taste. Two thumbs up!

Firstly,it was very difficult to obtain this product! My 2 local Veterinarians didn't stock it, so in order to trial it, I had to travel over 80miles (one way) to acquire my bag. I have 7 remaining cats from 2 litters(Mum,aged 12,still survives three of her offspring) and had I had to purchase it for her,to be honest,I wouldn't. At over $35 per 7lb bag it certainly wasn't and isn't an option (no matter how good it is).Had I only the one cat, then quite possibly I would but cost is a huge issue here and when you are already on a tight budget it simply didn't outshine other brands I've tried enough to justify the price. So, the product itself...absolutely A+ I gradually introduced my cat to the product but after day 3 she was already picking out the morsels from her regular brand and definitely appeared to prefer it.It has much smaller bites and has relatively no odour but evidently has got something in it that a cat likes.Difficult to keep the other cats away from the bowl!! Looking at the nutrition label didn't come up with any huge differences either as the ingredients and protein values etc were on a par with my regular brand so why my cat should prefer it I really don't know!? She maybe ate a little less as opposed to her usual, but all in all she had no problems adjusting to or digesting this product. Physically, she showed no signs of an improved coat or suchlike but she did appear a little more alert for the first week or so.She has always been very active and healthy but began to be somewhat more playful within a very short time.Sleep was no different and toilet habits were not affected.Teeth, gums and claws showed no obvious signs of improvement and breath and respiratory function was unaltered.Difficult to pin point a major difference in her wellbeing,so I won't begin to pretend there was one. She(and her offspring) evidently enjoyed the product but I'm afraid I simply can't afford to buy this regularly as no significant improvement in her appearance or behaivour was noted! I would consider making further purchases had I had a recommendation from the Veterinarian, but considering they (neither of them) stock it I find it impossible to believe it has any real and outstanding benefits beyond that of my usual brand.I'd recommend it however to any owner with a cat with the right credentials...it's certainly worth a try! Good luck.

My 12 year old cat tried the Hills Science Diet Age Defying cat food. Normally we use a brand purchased at the vet. When I opened the bag my cat immediately came running, she loved the taste of it. We keep our food in a large tin beside her eating area, and she was eating the food out of the tin as I was pouring it in, I had never seen her do that before. She really enjoyed the taste of the food. Also, she has been having trouble the last few months jumping up on the bed, she needs to try three or four times until she gets up, I don't know if this is coincidence or not, but now she jumps up on the first or second try. After observing her eat the food, I think it is very comparable if not better than the high quality products offered by the vet. I also noticed that her coat improved. I would definitely recommend and use this product again.

My cat has perked right up, he loves this stuff!! He was starting to look kinda mangy, his fur is nice and full & shiny again. HE loves this, he's gaining weight again, now instead of being kind of blah about his food, he's scratching at the cupboards to get into it. The price is a little steep for my liking (the big bag came to $38 vs the $10 for the store brand ) but definitely well worth the price. We'll be regular buyers of this product

My 16 - soon to be 17 year old cat, has been eating Hill's® Science Diet® Senior 11+ Age Defying™ Cat Food for a few weeks now. Prior to making the change in cat food he was eating a brand which we have been purchasing from our vet for years. He had been loosing weight, and not eating well at all. The minute I put the Hills food in his dish he ran to the bowl to eat, and has been doing so several times a day now. He also appears to be putting on some weight, and has more energy. Now if I could only figure out how to keep our Golden Retriever from eating it at every opportunity as well!

I found that my cat would not eat the food. I tried mixing it with her regular food but that didn't seem to work either she would cry and avoid eating it. I also I was not happy to read that the ingredient in it was chicken by-product and Pork fat.

I received a coupon, but for 2 weeks couldn’t find the exact product in our Lasalle stores, though went every second day to all 3 stores Mondou, Nature and Safari. Finally the stores received it and I got it for my cat! He is 12 years old, healthy but for the last couple of years he became less active, sleeping more. We have another one, young, 2 years old and the youngest wants to play all the time, and the old cat started to be upset more often when he doesn’t want to participate in playing. I noticed changes in my old car more and more over the last year. He liked to jump on the counter in the kitchen and in the bathroom, to drink water, but it became more and more difficult for him to do this lately. When he was younger, he liked to jump from the counter in the kitchen on top of the fridge and for the last year it became impossible task for him, even just to jump on the counter. I started to give him the Hill's® Science Diet® Senior 11+ Age Defying™ Cat Food for the last two and half weeks and we noticed that old cat started to play for the last couple of days with the youngest and today while my daughter was in the kitchen the old cat was trying to jump on the counter! He was aiming but then stepped back and again aiming. Felt that he was afraid to fail. He stopped jumping there more than a year ago! My daughter helped him on the counter and he started to aim on the fridge! Seemed like his favorite thing to do came back from his youth! He became more active for the last few days, became stronger and more playful! I hope I will continue Hill's® Science Diet® Senior 11+ Age Defying™ Cat Food for longer time and my beautiful old cat will be stronger and stronger and playful like in his youngest years!
