Have you had enough of monotonous and boring workouts? Well, make room for thrilling sensations and new training challenges! TRX exercises are performed with straps that are anchored to an elevated structure. First invented by the American Marine Special Forces, the activity is surfacing in gyms everywhere. Check out this new form of training!

What is it?
A system of suspension training that:
  • Works out all the muscles in the body;
  • Promotes a dynamic workout that combines the efforts of hanging from suspended straps (which are attached to an elevated point) with building resistance and strength to stabilize movements against the forces of gravity;
  • Utilizes only the weight of the body;
  • Allows you to vary the resistance and difficulty of the exercises simply by modifying the inclination of your body.
How is it practiced?
Some gyms offer TRX classes. Similarly to Jukari, a physical trainer directs the workout session in a space that has been equipped for TRX training. Acquiring the TRX equipment costs between $140 and $210. The advantages of buying it are numerous:
  • At home or while travelling, the accessory is simple to use and effective;
  • It is compact and light, and can be transported everywhere;
  • It can be used indoors and outdoors. You simply have to have access to an elevated point to attach the straps (height between 180 and 200 cm).
What results can I expect?
  • All muscle groups will be toned;
  • A greater overall strength and an improved general stability (through the strengthening of the long and deep muscles);
  • Gradually becoming fitter by training, without risk of injury and while respecting your personal rhythm.
Whom is it for?
The sport can be practiced by all, regardless of age or physical condition. Ready to try it out? You can find the accessories in gyms (like at Victoria Park in Montreal, shown on the photo), and in some fitness and physiotherapy centres. Ask about it! It’s guaranteed; whatever your fitness level, you should obtain relatively fast results.
