6 reasons to try out this activity
We often hear from avid runners that their sport of choice is comparable to a drug. It’s true: the high one gets from a run creates quite the addiction! We’ve got a few reasons to pick up jogging—or at least to help motivate you to keep at it if you’ve already begun! Of course, it also helps that running is also extremely fun!

Improved health
The health benefits of running slowly—but surely—become apparent. They’re especially noticeable when you stop whining about those three flights of stairs you have to climb, or when running after the bus doesn’t leave you with coughing and wheezing. In short, your heart and lungs benefit from running, as do your muscles.

Increased morale
We sure love our endorphins! Your body’s natural mood-boosting chemicals are releases while physical activity occurs. That’s why you get that feeling of euphoria after a brisk run on the treadmill; keep that as your spruce of motivation next time you’re at the gym!

Sexy legs
Divinistas conscious about their waistline will appreciate this rather, er, vain reason for running: it does wonders for your body, firming the likes of your butt, legs and thighs! You’ll burn fat and increase muscle, you won’t need to step on the scale to see the fruits of your labour—running’s physical results will be extremely visible!

More energy
Whether you hit the pavement in the mornings or partake in a run after work, you’ll get a heap of energy in return for the time you invested in running. Note that a morning run is the perfect start to your day… perhaps yielding better results than your coffee fix!

Achieve self-confidence
The discipline required to regularly practice this activity can leave us with a well-deserved sense of pride. From reaching milestones to creating new goals (for example, running a marathon or half-marathon), you have reason to keep your head held high!

Be one with nature
Outdoor runners know it best: the time spent jogging solo really allows you to observe and appreciate the surrounding environment. You can observe details that usually go unnoticed, as well as the gradual change in temperature. Being one with nature, it allows you to actually appreciate (no really!) the winter season.

Running is like meditation it allows me to clear my mind and focus on the here & now, to enjoy my surroundings & to become in tune with my body.
