Cold sores: they’re pesky facial blemishes on or around the lips that afflict many. And, like most blemishes, they can leave you feeling embarrassed and highly self-conscious, especially with an upcoming big social event on the calendar. Luckily, a cold sore outbreak is treatable, and quickly at that! Meet Abreva, a proven remedy that zaps our uninvited guest in the short time span of four days. We dab it on as soon as we feel that first tingle indicative of a cold sore to come, and minimize its stay on our pout so that we can get back to business. Now, that’s effective!

Abreva only "speeds healing time" by a few hours.

Blistex medicated lip ointment does the same thing at a significantly cheaper cost.

Here's an old Folk Remedy that's even cheaper:

insert your finger into your outer ear and use this natural oil to wipe on your cold sore/starting tingling itch of a cold sore.

May sound weird...but apparently the antibodies in your own ear-wax, coat and stop the building sore.

* We aint talkin' potatoes and carrots here....simply the natural moisture that is in the ear. Dont gross unecessarily, that's just silly.
