It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Saturday, December 13 2008 at 4:07 pm

It's snowy, windy and cold here in Pouce Coupe.  Tomorrow we will  have our village tree light up festivities and I am really looking forward to taking my two little boys.  They will take sleigh rides, drink hot chocolate, eat hotdogs, and see Santa.  I am not ready for the holiday yet, though.  I have made some gifts and have more to make over the next few days, as well as baking that needs to be done.  (Well, my husband thinks it NEEDS to be done anyway!!)  I have my usual Christmas belly, which has now been with me for three years.  The whole three years.  Sadly.  Of course we can all guess what one of my New Year's resolutions will be.
It's kind of nice being poor at this time of the year.  People forgive for not receiving gifts from us, and we can enjoy a very simple holiday with friends.  Very low stress.
Tonight we have a community potluck dinner to go to.  Does anywhere else have this?  It is very cool, just bring a dish, eat, the children get to see Santa, and the adults can participate in a Chinese gift exchange if they wish.  Good times.
I am anxious to get out cross-country skiing this winter too.  I long for the tranquility of the trails and the sound of the 'swish swish' on the snow.  It's especially nice if it is snowing large fluffy snowflakes.  The perfect place to daydream.
I think I will go off and daydream a little now.  If anyone reads this please feel free to comment.  I have never blogged before and I hope I am doing it properly.  Eventually I will have issues to discuss, but for now I am just enjoying the season and my blessings.
