We are often so stuck in invisible struggles in our hearts and minds, we barely have space for God. These deep struggles, these stuck places, are familiar to every one of us: brokenness, anger, discontentment, fear, and sadness. Stuck takes on these struggles within us so that we can encounter God. Because until we recognize that we are stuck and in need of God, we will miss what He has for us.
Jennie Allen’s Bible studies are designed to draw women close to God and to each other. These shorter studies dig deep quickly, creating experiential conversations and allowing women to wrestle with Scripture in a deep and authentic way throughout the week.

Stuck DVD-Based Study, was sent to me in exchange for my review. The title sparked my interest, and I felt the need to learn more. This 8 week session study (with 10 min. sessions); each week covers a different topic; being stuck, broken, mad, discontent, scared, overwhelmed, sad, and unstuck in life and your relationship with God. The study includes both the study workbook, the leader’s book, and suggests projects to be completed by the participant. Also included in the study, are “conversation” cards … a great way to stir up conversations about our spiritual journeys, or a great way to stir up topics to journal about.
Allen comes across as a great teacher; she is extremely passionate and focussed. Self growth can happen in a group, and it can also happen on your own. I really enjoyed being able to watch the DVD on my own, and on my own time.
This Bible study is well written, and is very useful for many. To note, the study outlines each week’s lesson and discussions. I hope that many will have the opportunity to use this tool.
