Sorry but I've been Sooooooooooooooo Busy....

Well, I've discovered my newest passion and that is belly dancing. For those of you who haven't tried it, I highly recommend it!!! It is one hour (okay, more in my case...) that you have totally focused on you. Forget about anybody around you... Forget about all those nasty things you tell yourself when you catch your reflection.... This is one class where jiggle is welcome! You shimmy way better (and you thought there was no use for the jiggle) and you learn that everyone has the same weaknesses as you do! Your butt's too big, your arms are too jiggly, your hips, your thighs.. whatever... These body parts are what make you... They grew babies and held others together... What selfless acts of love! Think of them as badges of honour and wear them proudly! Unite in a forum for women to celebrate yourself and each other! And make new friends, and listen to new music and learn to move your body in ways you never thought imagineable. It ain't easy but it sure is a lot of fun! I am now gearing up for my second and third recitals back to back and am loving every minute! Thanks everyone for caring enough to drop an occasional line to say where've you been... This is where I've been and I promise to drop back here soon! xo |

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Thank you all who have listened to me gripe about one thing or another. Thank you for your kind suggestions and encouragement. Thank you for being my sisters, no matter how far or close we are. Perhaps, one day, we'll all cross paths and have a coffee or a cuppa and a piece of cake. To all of you, I count you all as blessings and my life is that much richer and fuller with all of you a part of it!
Happy Thanksgiving!
(((((((((((((((( big hugs to you)))))))))))))))))))) xo |

Anybody Else HORMONAL or is it just me?

Well ladies, I am feeling reallllly hormonal... I thought things were a little weird but I hit a couple of websites that tell me I am weird! So, I love everything and everyone in one minute and could jump off the cliff the next. I am exhausted and am not sleeping. My husband has informed me that he can't wait to warm himself by the fire in the winter and he hopes it happens soon because I am that hot. Okay, so I've waited all my life to hear that statement but not its just not in a good way... <sniff, sniff> If anybody has anything to share here or is feeling the same, drop me a line, or happy pills, or tissue; it doesn't matter...
Hormonally yours in the Sisterhood.... xo |

One More Big Sleep.... Happy New Years Mom's

Is it just me or do the last 2 weeks of August consume more and more of my time? Hannah gets that much older and a new degree of panic sets in. What will I wear. She NEEDS nothing and WANTS everything. This year we decided to induldge her and take to downtown Toronto featuring the Eaton Centre, Yonge Street and Dundas Street. You would think we'd be able to find the SHOES since apparently we were all out of in Cambridge. NO, we didn't find shoes. We found a lot of other things and daddy still doesn't know how much we spent. We bring him along to carry things and go on an occassional water run for the parched shoppers. Oh yeah, we usually require his wallet. Anyway, we shopped and came with stuff but no shoes. So, she decided we still had one more shopping day til Christmas, oops, school start so out we went again yesterday. Finally, two pairs and winter boots, we were able to leave to come home, all in 5 more shopping hours. My feet and legs are killing me, my wallet is empty. The bus arrives at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow!
Happy New Year Mom's! We can reclaim a little calm again! |

It was a rainy day....

| I used to love that line.... Do you remember the commercial with the guy with the British accent? It used to crack me up, especially if I was feeling blue. Tonight though, while I sit and listen to the rain outside my window, I am feeling rather soothed and calmed. To me, its relaxing and therapeutic in a weird sort of way. Imagine, being able to just explode and throw lightening bolts anywhere you wanted to without a care and then randomly crying, as hard or as loud as you wanted to for however long you wanted and then all of a sudden there is a complete calming quiet with maybe a couple of sniffles but then, it's all over. Wouldn't that be great? Just to get whatever out in however lenghth of time it took to make you feel better. Or, the sound of the rain caressing the window like a tapping out a nonsensical tune that becomes a new white noise that you could immerse yourself into and just have random thoughts drift in and out without really stopping to think of anything at all. Hmmmmmmm...................... |

Just back from holidays and I have to wait a whole year to go again... boo hoo

| Why is it we take 50 weeks to plan it, organize it and fret about it to relax for one whole week away only to realize we have to wait 50 more weeks before doing it again? I can hardly wait! I love the weather, the ocean, relaxing, reading an entire book and engaging in conversation with complete strangers with no cares on what they think about how I look talk or dress. After all, we are all on holidays! Too bad we can't be this casual every day! Back to unpacking and planning again next year! |
