The Tourist (2010) by fredamans
Friday, December 24 2010 at 12:54 pm

Starring:

Johnny Depp
Angelina Jolie
Timothy Dalton

Not everyone will like this movie. It took half to even moderately make sense or be enjoyable in the least. At the end I feel like I may have wasted my time.

Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson

Good movie about revenge. A lot better than I thought it would be. A little predictable at times. Some great cars and racing scenes.

Resident Evil: Afterlife by fredamans

Starring

Milla Jovovich

This movie had better graphics, but the story itself didn't get any better. For the most part this movie was just as boring as the first 3.

Starring:

Angelina Jolie

Evelyn Salt is my new hero!
I love seeing movies with dominant and strong female lead characters, and Angelina delivered an action-packed performance in this one that I found extremely cool!
Definitely one I think you all should take the time or money to see!

Matt Dillon, T.I. Clifford Harris, Chris Brown, and more

This was an okay movie. If you like cop films with great action, you will love this film.
The action scenes were dynamite, but the story was a little slow.

Men will like it.

Kick Ass (2010) by fredamans

Nicholas Cage

This movie was pretty good and I was surprised actually how many times I was laughing. Definitely one that is worth paying for a rental fee, not a movie ticket.

Fighting (2009) by fredamans
Monday, July 19 2010 at 12:23 pm

Starring:

Channing Tatum
Terrence Howard

This movie was not as good as I hoped it would be. Being a lover of all fights and the styles, I wanted so much more from this. The only good about the film was the fighting scenes. They were just short lived.

Knight and Day (2010) by fredamans
Saturday, July 10 2010 at 1:57 pm

Starring:

Tom cruise and Cameron Diaz

The action scenes in the movie were phenomenal! Tom Cruise did all his own stunts and as viewers, it was well worth it! Made it much more exciting!
Cameron Diaz on the other hand, was a little boring to watch. There just wasn't enough chemistry between them for me to really enjoy it!

The A-Team (2010) by fredamans
Friday, July 9 2010 at 1:16 pm

Starring:

Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Jessica Biel and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson

This movie had my attention right from the start, but it had a lot to live up to as this is a huge part of my childhood.
It didn't disappoint!!!
It took me back to when I was small, curled up with Dad watching the show. They did a fantastic job casting and writing. I loved it from front to back! One of the best movie adaptions of a tv show yet!

Starring:

A bunch of newbies!

Martial Arts fans and adventurers, this one is for you!

It took a few minutes to get going, but then it really had a great feel to it. Like if The Neverending Story met The Last Emporer. Really great film!

The Karate Kid 2010 by fredamans
Tuesday, June 22 2010 at 12:44 pm

Starring Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith

This was a fantastic film! I loved how it made reference to the key points in the original film, when making this new and improved version. There were some really cute parts in it, like the fly, which I won't go into detail, but it was worth it!

The only criticism I have is how young the kids are. I don't like seeing 12 yrs old having romance or fighting. Maybe the cast members should have been as old as the rating on the movie, which was PG13.

Other than that, totally awesome! Would watch again and again.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time by fredamans
Monday, May 31 2010 at 12:42 pm

Starring: Jake Gyllenhall and Ben Kingsley

This movie is based on a popular video game, and I gotta tell you, it is so much like it! I loved it!

Amazing set and costume design!

Even the cinematography felt like some of the cut screens in the game, which was cool.

Fabulous action scenes!!!

Awesome adventure, lured you right in!

And made by Disney, though I don't advise for really small ones.

Robin Hood by fredamans

Fantastic costume and set design! The storyline was really good for being so different fromthe original story of Robin Hood. Enjoyed the different perspective on his past. The fighting scenes were awesome, and I definitely recommend the film!

The Losers by fredamans

Starring: Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Denny from Grey's Anantomy)

Starts out comicbook-like, but don't let that fool you. It is action-packed, edge of your seat film from the get go. I really enjoy the way this film was made too, almost Ocean's style. Really cool film, but not for kids!

Iron Man 2 by fredamans
Thursday, May 6 2010 at 12:53 pm

Starring: Robert Downey JR, Mickey Rourke, Gwenyth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, and Garry Shandling.

I recently reviewed the book, and am still hosting  a contest for it on my blog here; http://fredasvoice.blogspot.com

I was hoping this movie would not only be as good as the first, but live up to the book I read. Well, it did that!
The movie was just like the book, up until the end. It was so exciting, action-packed and the proper amount of drama. It makes for a smash hit, and that's what this is!

The first movie had more action, but the second had a better story.

Clash of the Titans 2010 by fredamans
Wednesday, April 14 2010 at 12:43 pm

Starring: Liam Neeson and Ewen McGregor

This was the remake of the 80's classic with Mark Hamill. In my opinion, this film was better by far than the original. Despite the fact graphics are better in this day and age, I felt it was a more relevant movie to today, than back 20 years ago.

Definitely action packed, and based on mythological events and people, there is violence.

The Book of Eli by fredamans
Saturday, April 10 2010 at 12:08 pm

Starring:

Denzel Washington and Mila Kunis

It took a while to understand the setting and era, actually half of the movie was mildly confusing, but right at the end, the whole thing comes together beautifully. You then get the whole story, and it is a pretty good one at that.

There is foul language and violent scenes, so not for kids.

The closest thing I can compare it to, is a Black Mad Max beyond Thunderdome... waaaaaay beyond.

Sunday, February 28 2010 at 10:21 am

Starring: Dennis Quaid, Tyrese, Charles Dutton, and Kate Walsh

Honestly I thought this movie would be better than it was. It was just okay. Actually From Paris With Love was better!

There was a lot of sick scenes, since it was fighting with angels, and not good ones. This movie makes us believe angels are evil and do God's bidding by killing. Not really the fairytale replacement I want. I would rather stick to the angels that don't harm.

Still not a bad movie, just a little dumb.

From Paris With Love by fredamans
Sunday, February 28 2010 at 10:12 am

Starring: John Travolta, Jonathan Rhys-Myers

This started out slow, for like the first 15 minutes. Then Travolta entered the scene, and that was it, boredom over. The next more than an hour was extreme action!
You would seriously think at times Travolta is the bad guy, but he isn't. He's after the bad guys.

Fantastic fim, I recommend you take your hubbys to see. Mine loved it!

The Spy Next Door by fredamans
Monday, January 25 2010 at 3:05 pm

Starring jackie Chan

This was a movie you can sit and watch with the kids, though I thought it was more for us BIG kids.

Great action, and very funny!! Not the typical Jackie Chan movie, but all the great moves and tricks.

Remember to watch the end for bloopers.

Ok so for action I thought this movie would be awesome. Man I was wrong! Whata stupid film, and so unrealistic too. Anyways not a recommendation from me.

This movie was supposed to be along the lines of IRobot, only it was awful. And mildly confusing. I wouldn't recommend anyone put themselves through it. It is an hour an a half you'll never get back.

The action parts of this movie were really groovy, but it was just alright. I've seen the same kind of thing so many times it really was nothing new. Still worth it if you don't have to pay much.

Synopsis:
Dr. Adrian Helmsley, part of a worldwide geophysical team investigating the effect on the earth of radiation from unprecedented solar storms, learns that the earth's core is heating up. He warns U.S. President Thomas Wilson that the crust of the earth is becoming unstable and that without proper preparations for saving a fraction of the world's population, the entire race is doomed. Meanwhile, writer Jackson Curtis stumbles on the same information. While the world's leaders race to build "arks" to escape the impending cataclysm, Curtis struggles to find a way to save his family. Meanwhile, volcanic eruptions and earthquakes of unprecedented strength wreak havoc around the world.

Not sure of the stars.... all new to me.

Still a wicked martial arts movie!!! Especially if you like that sort of film. This aims to please, and pays off in full!

Not for kids, but definitely an adults action packed dream!

I warn you now, there is VERY graphic content in this movie.

I loved it though. It really showed how someone could lose their mind if pushed over the edge. It also shows how our judicial system can still fail us, whether American or not, they're pretty much the same. Lots of action and suspense, and I enjoyed all the dialogue. One minute you think he's nuts, then you think he's sane and just angry, then you start to agree with him.

All over the place with emotion, but a great movie!

My recommendation is to wait for it to hit Blockbusters,  then see it!

This was an hour and a half out of my life I won't soon get back. If you like fighting scenes, then you like the only existing parts to the movie. Other wise, its not worth a lick.

It stars Kristen Kreuk, (Lana Lang on Smallville.)

Oh and the crazy guy from Desperate Housewives..... Dave.

This movie for me was the one to watch, and boy was I disappointed. The action scenes with the machines is cool, but that's all folks! Not something I would recommend you spend money on even at Blockbuster. Just wait for it to hit t.v, which nowadays is less than 6 months.
