4 must-haves for the hostess
If you're like us and love to have guests in your home, this article is just for you! Here’s our latest selection of objects to use in the kitchen, allowing you more time with your guests and less time over the stove.

Espresso
yourself
It was love at first sight. Imagine, the design and expertise of Krups, but pushed even further than usual! We first note the sophisticated multi-material machine, enhanced by the combination of steel, chrome and faux-wood. Next, we experiment with each feature: the filter holder, for example, has a precise cup system, but also an eject button for the grains following infusion. Brilliant!
Krups Silver Art Collection XP 4600 Espresso Machine, $349.99 at Sears.

Ceramic strength
The time has come: discover the tool that will provide you with a lifetime of gorgeously-sliced tomatoes! This ceramic knife cuts so very precise, while remaining sharp 10X longer than its steel counterpart. It doesn’t oxidize, and will neither rust nor stain. That said, be sure to use it on foods that have little resistance, as ceramic can break on tougher foods.
Ricardo 6" Ceramic Santoku Knife, $39.99 in stores and online.

Sweets table
There is always a good reason to cap off a delicious meal with a bevy of sweets! Since the holidays are steadily approaching, and more and more dinners among friends will take place, we knew this treat stand will be a great addition. Especially when filled with yummy and colourful cupcakes!
Cupcake Stand, $49.99 at HomeSense.

Bottle cap gobbler
We fall into the category of people who hate it when, after a party, beer bottle caps are left strewn about the house. (Believe us: they’re sometimes hard to locate!) How about you? Well, to help us collect and easily dispose of the caps, we can’t help but praise this bottle opener that, to our delight, also boasts a reservoir for these tiny aluminum discs, where they wait until the post-party clean-up commences. Hallelujah!
Trudeau Bottle Opener, $11.99 at select retailers.
