This past summer, we shared with you some of the men’s fragrances we adored. Now, autumn promises to be ever-fragrant in the men’s cologne department, as well. Ranging from fresh, to spicy, to musky, check out our must-have fragrances of the season for him. Which one will your beau choose? 1. Sexy actor-slash-rocker Jared Leto is the face of new fragrance HUGO Just Different by HUGO BOSS, a vibrant scent for your spontaneous beau, the curious explorer of the urban nightlife. The top notes offer a fresh burst of fern and frozen mint, followed by herb notes like coriander and basil, and the base notes offer a rich, woodsy and manly olfactory sensation thanks to patchouli and cashmeran, among others. $52 (40mL), $76 (100mL) and $94 (150mL) at The Bay.
2. A spicy scent that is long-lasting, Challenge Re/Fresh by LACOSTE is one fragrance that your man on the move will appreciate. With its Time Release Technology, your man can get a burst of freshness, long after the first spritz. And notes, from top to base, run from birch tree leaves and cardamom to oregano and rosemary. $68 (75mL) at LACOSTE boutiques.
3. A fresh take on the 1994 classic, CK One Shock by Calvin Klein definitely goes bold. From a dash of fresh clementine and cucumber, to spicy black pepper and basil, rounded off with tobacco and patchouli, once applied, you truly won’t be able to keep your hands off he who wears it!$45 (50mL) and $65 (100mL) exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix.
4. Soccer star David Beckham truly is a guy’s guy, but also has a hint of style (his sense of fashion cannot be denied). So it’s no wonder that his new fragrance Homme by David Beckham is a blend of both fresh and spicy top notes—such as ginger, pine, pepper, and citrus—and more rugged heart base notes, like leather, mahogany wood, and skin musk. $35 (30mL) at Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix
5. Nicole Kidman’s hubby now has his own scent, and it definitely suits the more manly man. Phoenix by Keith Urban boasts top notes like suede and cognac, which definitely offer an air of sophistication. More rugged notes follow suit such as musk, Canadian balsam and Mexican chocolate (mmm!). The scent wraps up nicely with woodsy and amber notes, with a touch of leather. $24 (30mL) at Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix.
