You have recently noticed changes in your relationship: your beau is distant, he often arrives home late, he wears a new cologne, he buys new clothes, he watches what he eats… You may suspect that he is cheating on you. If so, what if you hired a private detective to get to the bottom of things?

 

A quick internet search easily turns up private detective agencies that meet different needs: tailing your partner in order to find out where he comes and goes, information and proof gathering (photos, videos, audio recordings) which can be used in court during divorce proceedings in order to determine the amount of child support, who will be granted custody of the children, etc.

 

The first consultation with a detective is usually free and consists of determining the terms of the agreement and the fees. The hourly rate will depend on the complexity of the request. Thus, prices may vary between a few hundred of dollars to several thousands of dollars, depending on how quickly the case progresses, and how much you’re willing to spend.

 

For this article, we had hoped to get some juicy tidbits from a private eye but we must say, it’s not an easy task! They aren’t called private detectives for nothing! However, we had the chance to ask a private eye a few questions although, you guessed it, he wished to remain anonymous.

 

When we asked whether the success of a case was guaranteed, our private detective admitted that certain cases remained unsolved due to lack of evidence. “It must be said that in 50% of cases, a partner’s doubts are unfounded. A man who claims to be playing cards with his buddies once a week, even if it may seem a good excuse to engage in an extramarital relationship, may very well just be playing cards with his buddies, and nothing else is going on!”

 

Our private eye’s clientele is mainly made up of individuals between 40 and 55 years of age, the age when a midlife crisis hits, but also and especially, “when monotony sets in within the relationship.”
