The reason I’m so upset about being laid off is because I’m on EI right now but no one wants to hire me b/c I’m gonna be on maternity leave in 3 months anyway and I can really only work 8:30-3:30 b/c I have to get my son on/off the bus and my fiancé works 7:30-5:30 and daycare is too expensive. But I hardly get any money from EI b/c my wages weren’t very high to start at Kal Tire and they promised me raises that I never received. And now EI wants me to attend this stupid 2 hour thing on how to write resumes and crap but I’ve had good jobs before like the chamber of commerce and Cell phone sales and I’ve never had to work for a fast food place b/c I’ve had good jobs and I’m also in the Job connect program so they help me search for jobs and stuff and I give EI a list of the jobs ive applied for so I think its a waste of time. They should have some kind of Vito for ppl who have had good jobs and who haven't been out of work for more than 4 months between jobs and who have been looking for a job. If you wern't attending you had to write them a letter telling them why you wouldn't be so i wrote them a letter telling them exactly that, that i was perfectly capable of finding my own job and have done so in the past but i'm having a baby in 3 months and ppl dont want temporary employees and working in fast food isnt the hours or what i wanna do. ( yes i had much better grammar in the letter i wrote them :-D ) I could get my EI cancelled if i dont go and they dont accept my reason for not going but I'm not going anyway b/c I'm babysitting for the months of may and june and I'm not going to tell the family to go find another babysitter I am their babysitter.
