Good thing I didn't bother applying for EI

I accomplished one goal - to get a job within 2 weeks of quitting. I briefly considered applying to EI right away after I quit but it takes 2 weeks to kick in, then only pays 55% of what I was making. So, I decided that I'd not go that route and instead focus all my attention on applying for work and going to interviews.
I didn't land my dream job by any stretch, but it pays way better than EI and only a couple dollars less per hour than my last job. It's a full time data entry job. I figure it'll be good because it's kind of mindless work. I'm starting off working the night shift 4pm-midnight which I'm fine with because that leaves the days open to look for something better or get things done. I'm kind of a night owl anyway so it doesn't really bother me. When the workload calms down it'll change to days. I don't think there are any benefits or anything so I'll figure that out on my own after I find out for sure.
I'm still looking at other ways of making residual income such as blogging. I am also determined to start a business at some point but still need to find my muse. I'm thinking something travel related would be appropriate. I'm doing a LOT of research on starting a business and am just collecting it for now. |
