Maintaining Healthy Skin / www.bestbodyscrubs.ca
kin is the largest organ of our body. It acts as an insulator that provides a certain degree of temperature regulation.
Your skin tells a lot about you. Due to so many of us leading a hectic lifestyle these days we tend to neglect our health. Neglecting your health will have a direct affect on your skin. Our skin is exposed to many harmful environmental elements, like sun rays. Too much sun will dehydrate the body. This in turn affects the health of our cells in the skin. The main reason our skin may look bad is due to our poor eating habits. With everyone being so busy we tend to neglect a proper diet.
Have no worries. There are lots of ways to maintain healthy skin. Here are just a few. First off, eating healthy food. Cut down on the amount of junk food you eat each day. You can still have these foods, just in moderation, since oily foods have been known to cause pimples. Eat more veggies and fruit. Vegetables are flooded with vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that are essential for nourishing your skin. Fruits have a high content of water which is vital to keeping the body hydrated.
Secondly, exercising and drinking plenty of water through out the day will help you to have a better looking natural skin due to the additional flow of blood to your skin and by the water keeping your skin better hydrated.
Thirdly and most importantly, make sure you practice a regular cleansing routine. Cleanse, exfoliate, tone and moisturize with a body lotion every day. Start by determining what type of skin you have.
With oily skin a shiny appearance and large pores are usually visible. It`s important not to over scrub, because this can lead to a pimple outbreak and use tepid water. Hot water can strip away needed moisture. Always use oil-free lotions.
Dry skin is tight or rough feeling. Wash with warm water and don`t use strong scrubs or any alcohol-based skin products.
With combination skin the forehead, nose and chin are usually oily while the cheeks may be normal or dry.
Normal skin will show a healthy glow and there is no redness or large pores visible. To maintain this skin type use skin care products that maintain the natural water balance of the skin.
Proper skin care is very important. Determine your skin type and then get in the daily habit of caring for your skin. If you continue with a daily routine your skin will have a more youthful appearance even after your youthful years are gone. |
