1. Habits to Break When in a Relationship
When you go from being single to being in a relationship, some things don’t change: you’re still a friend, a daughter, a career woman… ultimately, you’re still you. However, some things that you used to do while part of the dating scene may not be advised when you’re part of a couple.
1. Incessant flirting. While the occasional innocent smile or wink at someone other than your significant other won’t do any harm, shameless flirting with men like you and your girlfriends used to do when single is a no-no. Especially when you know your man would be extremely hurt if ever he finds out. 2. Getting him to pay. Even while dating, you should try going dutch once in a while. However, it is during that early period that some men want to be the ones offering to pay. Once that early period of wanting to impress dies down and, for example, you are made aware of his financial situation, try and mix things up a bit. He shouldn’t have to pay every time! 3. Debaucherous nights out with the girls. Nights out with the girls every once in a while? A must! Crazy nights out in which you can’t remember what happened the night before? Er… There’s nothing wrong with going a bit crazy at times but, depending on your age, it’s no longer classy to spend the wee hours of the morning with your head in the toilet. And we’re sure your man won’t want to see you like that, either. 4. Playing head games. We can all be fickle while in the dating world but once you’ve hit the relationship point, the games should be over. From things like waiting for him to call to playing hard-to-get, there comes a time when we should know what we want, especially when your other half knows what he wants. 5. Not making time. In the dating world, it is the aura of mystery, the building of anticipation, and the act of leaving a man wanting more that makes the whole process fun! While surprises are also what keep relationships going, leaving your man hanging—or the other way around—is not advised. A relationship is blending two lives together, so make the time and be there for your guy! |

Isn't this just common sense?! I've always wondered why some women don't do well in relationships...now I realize it must be a lack of common sense. It's actually sad that an article like this needs to be written.-
Common sense isn't very common......sometimes people, as well meaning as they be and kind, nice etc. their minds and thoughts don't come together as well as others. For the same reason some people make really good accountants and others dont. I think any help is great. Respecting people's shortcomings as their 'difference' is a good way to be successful in any relationship or in the world ....period. :)

I definitely don't think it's "sad" that this type of article is written. Keeping a relationship going is a hard thing, especially if you're young and inexperienced. Many people haven't seen great relationships in their childhood and thus need to learn from somewhere else. Also, people don't necessarily realize the results of their behaviours.
